Women's Bowls Results
The semi finals of the Women’s District Fours was played on Thursday 18th February at Hillsdale Bowling Club.
The gusty wind made conditions quite tricky.
Barbara Shur, Gail Black, Marie Thatcher and Jenny Welton defeated Mary Newin, Karen Levinson, Barbara Shotland and Pam Stein.
Devorah Lees, Sandra Ballard, Iris Kampel and Juliette Friedlander defeated J. Vella, D. Wiley, B. Pitfield and J. Watson of Matraville.
This made it an all Double Bay Final which was played on Friday. It was a perfect day and the Double Bay green was great.
Jenny Welton and her team defeated Juliette Friedlander and her team 22 – 12.
The man of the match was without doubt Jenny Welton.
Time and time and time again, when her opposition were holding 2, 3, 4 and sometimes 5 shots, Jenny would come in for the shot or would convert to 2 or even 3 shots for her team.
